I'm Going Crazy!
 (Thursday, October 21 2004, 12:40 am)

Is it just me or is the world going crazy? Today everything seems weird, nothing feels right. There is something missing; something crucial. I look around me; all my stuff are here; my desk, my computers, my headphone, my wallet, my books. I cant seem to figure it out. I’m sitting here at work. For the past 2.5 hours, I have sat in front of my computer, and don’t recall doing a single thing on it. By this I don’t mean I’ve been doing useless stuff; I literally mean I have done absolutely nothing. I’ve just spaced out for 2.5 hours. I keep telling myself: “Get up and go home. Why the hell are you sitting here? Just go home and relax; its 10:40pm for God’s sake.”, yet I cannot find the will to go home. I got up a few times. I put my bag on my back, got off the seat, stood there for a couple of seconds and sat back down. Maybe its because its gonna be a cold walk back home. Or just maybe I’m waiting for something. But what am I waiting for, there is no one around. Maybe I’m waiting for a phone call; but from whom? I don’t know anyone down here that would call me at this time and for what reason would they call me? And everyone in Canada is already sleep, its like 1:40am there. No one would be calling me from there. I feel tired as hell, I just want to go home and sleep, but why can’t I?

Can it get any more stupid?
 (Monday, October 18 2004, 1:59 pm)

So I went into the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) today for drivers license. It turns out that if you go to New York or any of the other 21 states they listed, you can exchange your canadian drivers license for an american one. also if you have an american drivers license from any state other than california you can exchange it for a california one.

Being a nerd I will explain it as follows:
A = canadian drivers license
B = NY drivesr license
C = california drivers license.

A = B (ie. you can give your canadian and get NY one)
B = C (ie. you can give your NY one and get a CA one)
A != C (ie. you CANNOT give your canadian one and get a california drivers license.)

Does this make any sense to you? If it does, then please explain it to me aswell.

Ping-Pong; Apply today, no special skills required.
 (Friday, October 15 2004, 3:47 am)

Today I spent 2 hours after dinner playing ping-pong. I had never know that it was such a fun game. I mean I had heard my friends talking about it all the time; saying how they love playing it and how they've won medals and stuff in it, but i always told myself that it is a lame game. Today after playing I realized that it is fun and it is very easy to pick up. Anyone can learn to play easily and can hence keep up the game.

Most other sports require lots and lots of practice to become decent enough to be allowed to play. Take soccer for example, to be able to just join a team of your friends, it is a hassle, never mind all the times they will put you down for a mistake you make, and not everyone will be able to play. Ever see any of the Persian girls here play soccer?

Next term, I plan on playing at Waterloo. I heard they have a ping-pong table in the PAC. I hope it’s true!

I Will Vote!
 (Tuesday, October 12 2004, 9:28 pm)

I have decided that for the first time in my life, I am going to vote. As they say, every vote counts, and this is a critical point to throw Bush out of the picture. Doest matter who replaces him so long as its not him.

I've been following the presidential campains closely this term, and John Kerry is not that bad, he seems to be pretty anti-war, and I think it might be a good thing at this time. Though he will probably not do most of the stuff he says he will do, but then it doesnt matter.

So today I filled out the elections registration form and sent it in. They need to verify everyone before they vote, and the deadline for registration is 2 days from now. Hopefully the mail will get there on time. After that, in November I will go and vote for John Kerry.

So now all I can do is wait and see if I get registered or not. They will probably look at my name, and see that it is Ali, and reject my registeration.

Moto
 (Saturday, October 09 2004, 11:21 pm)

Dance, as though no one is watching,
Love, as though you've never been hurt before,
Sing, as though no one can hear you,
Work, as though you don't need the money,
Live, as though heaven is on earth.

Rumi
