Hair growth!  (Tuesday, December 30 2003, 8:10 pm)
My attempt at growing my hair has come to an end! During the Fall term 2003, for the first time in my life, I stopped caring about how my hair looked! To add to this carelessness half way through the term I got my hair cut by a friend (though I must say they did a good job of it) and after a couple of months on top of that my hair was a big mess and to add more I stopped shaving aswell.
After the term was over and I came home to Toronto, my parents got a big shock out of my look aswell as almost every other person I knew in Toronto.
Using the old saying "if you can't laught at them laught with them" I managed to make jokes about my hair and keep them off my back for an entire week. But yesterday my mum's patience came to an end and forced me to the local barber to get my hair cut.
The funniest part was the barber, so shocked at the state my hair was in, every time she made a cut she would say, "Don't worry, I'm not gonna leave it like this, I'll let you know when its completely done!". After a full hour of working on it (and I must say, this was probably the best haircut I got in years) she started looking at it from all the different angles! making small tiny adujstments with her scissors as if she was cutting a sculpture into garden hedges. Finally after another 20 minutes of her adjustments and blow-drying, she said it is done. She had finally completed her work of art. She had won the championship and was ready to recieve her award (and so I tipped her aswell! :P ).
But now my hair is short again, and its much better when its short, so I shall try to keep it this way. Oh and I have my goatie back aswell.

Arge Bam - a dead dream  (Friday, December 26 2003, 10:00 pm)
At around 3 am this morning as I was browsing Google News, my favourite news source when I came across a
devastating news article "Thousands Dead In Iran Quake". My entire body trembled with pain. I quickly clicked on the article title to read the entire story. "1000 people dead, thousands injured", could it be possible, the city which is only kilometers away from Kerman, where I spend 9 years of my life?
It is now 20 hours after I first heard the news and the death toll has reached 20,000 people (my prayers go out to those people and their families).
Arge Bam! An ancient historic city in the province of Kerman, near Bam. It is (or rather was) the oldest and largest mud-brick city in the world. One of Iran's largest national prides and most visited historical tourist attractions in Iran. 2000 years of strength and pride that kept this city standing was gone in a matter of minutes caused by a quake that measured 6.6 on the Richter scale along with tens of thousands of my compatriots and fellow Iranians.
It was my dream to visit this city, and to step on the very footsteps taken by my Kings, and to breath the same air they breathed. I will never be able to climb the stairs and touch the walls of the city made with the lives of my fathers. This dream is now dead for me.
May God bless the soles of the innocent people that gave their lives to us today.

News system is up and running  (Friday, December 26 2003, 9:17 pm)
Today is my third day back from Waterloo. I'll be starting my work term on January 5th 2004. Exactly 2 years ago on Jan 5th 2002 I crashed my beautiful Mitsubishi Eclipse, what a loss!
It's gonna be hard leaving my friends (well at least one of them) behind for four months, but I guess we all have to manage it.
Anyways, I guess this posting is my first official posting on this site, and it doesn't say anything useful or for that matter, interesting, but what can you do!! :)
I'm gonna try to finish up the rest of the site as soon as possible, so it will be ready for my 4 month journey into space (I mean US).
By the way I'd like to thank my friend Pooya for motivating me to build this site. (and I'm stealing some of his ideas from his site too! :) )
